How do I apply for a loan?

What personal information must I provide when I apply for finance?
We will require your full name, date of Birth as well as 3 years’ of living and employment history. Thanks to tighter lending criteria the lenders will also need to get an in-depth understanding regarding your current income and expenses.
What types of loans do you offer?
We offer fixed rate commercial and consumer asset finance. That means we can help you if you are after finance for a consumer purpose or for predominantly business. Can I refinance my current loan with Statewide Finance?
Yes, you can. If there is a benefit to you to do so (Save interest or lower your repayment (or both!) then we can assist.
I have not found a car yet – can I still get finance approved?
Yes. In most instances it is a great way of knowing what your borrowing capacity is as well as what the repayment is before committing to a sales contract you may not be able to cancel.
What is a Balloon Payment?
A balloon payment is the final payment made to the lender to release their encumbrance on the vehicle. It is mainly used in commercial loans as per the tax office thresholds. It is a great way to increase your borrowing power while minimising the repayments to meet your budget.
What do I need to get finance?
You need to be over 18 years of age, an Australian Citizen or an acceptable Visa holder, have a fixed address and have enough income to support your current financial commitments as well as the new commitment you would like to enter into. You will also need to satisfy the lenders lending criteria and have an acceptable credit score.
How long does it take?
The application process takes no more than 5 minutes to complete over the phone or you can come in and visit us in our office. Once we have all the supporting paperwork, we can generally have you approved in 1 hour!
How do I repay the loan?
Repayments can be made either by direct debit or as a periodic payment from your nominated bank account.
Can I still get a car loan if I am self-employed?
Yes, you can. Sometimes getting approved for a loan while self employed can be hard. That is why we have specialised loan products for those that are self employed and may not have all the necessary paperwork such as tax returns. Ask us for more information specific to your circumstances.
Can I make additional repayments to reduce my loan?
Yes, you can but check with your broker as in some instances it might not be beneficial to do so.
Can I pay out my loan early?
Yes, you can however check with your broker as it may not be beneficial to do so or there may be a break fee that you will need to pay.
I have worked casually for over a year and I need a car, can you help?
Yes, we can. We have specialised loan products and lenders who cater for those that work in industries where casual employment is standard. Sometimes the lenders will look at those with less than 12months casual employment.
I have paid defaults on my file; can I still get finance for a car?
Yes, you can. However, there are some types of defaults and default amounts that may mean you get declined. It is best to have a copy of your credit report so we can better understand how we can assist in protecting your credit score and match you with the right lender the first time.
I have been previously declined; do you think you can help?
Yes. We have over 30 different lenders with 100’s of different loan products so it might just mean you didn’t match with the right lender and not that you can’t get an approval somewhere else.
Can you help me find a car?
